Colombia – International Certification of Trainers for Teacher Training and Advanced Teacher Training

Goal:

Training and certification of master trainers for vocational school teachers with a view to enhanced action-oriented didactics.

Description:

Festo has a framework agreement with SENA (National Service of Learning) in Colombia. The goals of this agreement include the development and promotion of vocational school teachers, the modernisation of vocational training and education as well as the elaboration of technology transfer processes. In this context, Festo is developing a qualification programme for trainers in the fields of teacher training and advanced teacher training. In all, approx. 100 such trainers have taken part in a basic qualification course and concluded it with an individual assessment. The 18 best trainers had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge at the Landesakademie in Esslingen and in Barcelona, Spain. A certification process took place in Colombia. The participants prepared and held a course on a topic of their choosing. This was followed by a time of reflexion and a colloquium. The certification was carried out by an employee from Festo Didactic and an employee from the Landesakademie.
The basis for cooperation between Festo Didactic and the Landesakademie Esslingen is an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Festo and the ministry of culture of Baden-Württemberg as well as a cooperation agreement between Festo and the Landesakademie Esslingen.

Tasks of the Landesakademie:

• Conceptualisation and implementation of the further qualification in learner-focussed and action-oriented lesson didactics as well as in learning arena teaching
• Development of the assessment design and instruments for the assessment following the further qualification in Europe in cooperation with Festo Didactic
• Implementation of the assessment in Colombia in cooperation with Festo Didactic
