Goals:

• Initiation and sustainable development of a regional network of stakeholders, decision-makers in the national education system, head teachers, teachers and pupils from countries of the Danube region.
• Construction of an operational platform for regional cooperation and the exchange of information, opinions, knowledge and experience between projects and programmes as well as between teachers and teacher training institutions from all countries of the Danube region.
• Creation of awareness among decision-makers and among teachers of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in an interdisciplinary setting in the context of European integration and regional cooperation.
• Preparation of a baseline study (with annual updates) on the innovation status in the thematic areas addressed by the eSchool4S network.
• Development and demonstration of innovative methods and tools for shaping and introducing an interactive, web-based classroom and virtual project partnerships that involve teachers and pupils from various countries of the Danube region.
• Creation of the website  Fremdes Angebot: www.eSchool4S.eu (öffnet in neuem Tab)as the central internet portal for joint development and for the exchange of innovative lesson concepts, content and methods to bring Europe to the schools in the Danube region and to involve young people in the sustainable development of their home region.
• Presentation on the application of the jointly developed e-teaching concepts and materials in the web-based eSchool4S classrooms.
• Continuous monitoring and assessment of the development of the eSchool4S network and its activities.
• Efficient advertising for the eSchool4S network and consistent distribution of the network results.
• Development of ICT (Information and Communications Technology) competences and practical experience.

Description:

The basic idea behind eSchool4S is to build up a multinational network on several planes which involves stakeholders in the education sector, teacher training institutions, schools, teachers and school classes in the joint development, testing, presentation and dissemination of innovative e-teaching concepts for  the secondary level in the Danube region.
The particular focus of eSchool4S lies in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in accordance with European strategies and European policies such as:

• EU Strategy for the Danube Region
• Europe 2020 Initiative – Energy 2020

• Work package 5: Planning, organisation and hosting of the first annual conference of the eSchool4S network
• Work package 12: Presentation of a web-based classroom for the eSchool4S network (entry phase)
• Work package 14: Reproduction/Announcement of the web-based classrooms of the eSchool4S network (secondary phase)
• Work package 18: Public relations work, publications and web presentations
