Thailand – Cooperation Project for School and Lesson Development as well as Quality Development

Goal:

Knowledge transfer and intercultural cooperation

Description:

The Embassy of Thailand and the Thai Ministry of Education took the initiative with the goal of building up a cooperation scheme with Baden-Württemberg with respect to vocational education and training. The basis is a Joint Declaration of Intent between the Ministry of Education of Baden-Württemberg and the Ministry of Education of Thailand, which was signed on 24 April 2014.
The cooperation is to take place both at school level and at administrative level and is to contribute towards the development of schools and teaching as well as towards quality enhancement.

Next steps:

School level
Starting with a pilot project: Selection of a maximum of seven schools on the Baden-Württemberg side and on the Thai side

Planning meeting of cooperating schools to be held at the Landesakademie Esslingen in order to get to know each other, choose joint project topics and draw up a project plan.

Implementation of the projects with mutual visits by summer

Evaluation of the pilot project from April on

School administration level: OVEC and Landesakademie

Concretisation of the orders from the Thai side for the conceptualisation and implementation of qualification measures and measures for curriculum development on the part of the Landesakademie. Target groups: school administration staff, leaders from schools and teacher trainers

Possible conceptualisation and implementation of qualification measures

Tasks of the Landesakademie:

• Developing a project plan
• Steering the school cooperation schemes (organisation, facilitation, evaluation)

After the order:

• Conceptualisation and implementation of qualification measures for teacher trainers in the field of teaching development
• Conceptualisation and implementation of qualification measures for leaders on the topics of: school management, school and teaching development as well as quality enhancement
• Advisory services on the development of curriculums
• Advisory services on the further education and, if necessary, on the training of teaching staff
